Class: Advanced Topics in Product Design: Human Centered Design Development
-
Project Name: Designing Wearable Navigation Device for Visually Impaired
-
Project Scope:
- This is a human centered design project in association with Microsoft.
- Project aims at developing a technology that will guide the visually impaired people to navigate with better sense of surrounding.
- Our team is focusing on developing the wearable design that will satisfy the technological constraints as well as enhance the user experience. In the later stage of project, we will also fabricate the device.

Autonomous Underwater Vehicle
Status: Completed B.E. Capstone Project (Aug 2015 - May 2016)

Objective:
This project of Autonomous Underwater Vehicle aimed at developing a low-cost underwater vehicle which is able to submerge, travel certain distance under the water and surface again. It aimed at collecting the information through a camera and simultaneously transmit it to the base station wirelessly.

Project Work:

-
Conceptualized low-cost technology to achieve neutral buoyancy.
-
Designed first CAD of underwater vehicle body.
-
Performed competitive cost analysis.
-
Reiterated the design to make changes in component location to achieve quicker stability underwater.
-
Fabricated the AUV body and tested rigorously to ensure water-proof interior.
-
Programmed micro-controller (Arduino), BLDC motors, Xbee transmitter-receiver and interfaced camera.
